Skylarks
November 2017
In Skylarks, we enjoyed a trip to Bovington Tank Museum. We were lucky enough to take part in two workshops to build upon our knowledge of WW2. All of the children got to dress up and take part in a mock march after learning about the different types of uniforms people would have worn for various jobs on the Home Front. We also had the opportunity to learn more about life in the 1940s, looking around a typical house from this period and we experienced an air raid. We all had a fantastic day!
In Science, Skylarks have been learning about electricity. We have had fun building simple circuits that light a bulb, move a motor or make a buzzer sound. We have learnt about the various components of a circuit and have carried out an investigation to find out which materials are conductors and which are insulators. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the practical aspect of this unit and all understand what makes a circuit complete.
