Home Learning
All children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 are given a menu of activities to complete over the coming term that reflect what they are learning in school. There are reading, spelling and number tasks that can be undertaken weekly and a choice of English, Maths and Learning Theme opportunities. Children in EYFS have a weekly newsletter that outlines practical, accessible activities that can be undertaken at home to support classroom learning.
Advice shows that Home Learning in primary schools does not appear to lead to large increases in learning so we have tried to create a system that allows the children to complete small, targeted chunks of learning at home that are focused, manageable and rewarding.
Home Learning Clubs take place on Friday lunchtimes for those children who would find it easier to complete the tasks in school.
