Kingfisher 1  

Welcome to the Kingfisher 1 class page. 

Kingfisher 1 class is one of two classes that make up the Complex Needs Resource Base; we are a mini community within the wider community of our school. We help the children to develop a confident voice and to be kind and help them to 'dream big'. Our children will also share time with their mainstream peers throughout the day.

Our children are encouraged to be independent with morning routines such as hanging up their own coats and sorting out their own bags.

Mrs Fisher is the class teacher and Mrs Romano and Mrs Savage are the teaching assistants.

We are ably supported once a week by a speech and language therapist, an occupational therapist, a sports coach and an art teacher.

Please also check the Mainstream class pages for details of National testing which takes place for the year group your child is in. All National tests have adaptive access for children with special educational needs. Please talk to the class teacher or Senco, Mrs Cathryn Leeman, for more information.

Our class story is 'Thank you Omu' a book that celebrates a kind lady who shares her thick red stew with all of her neighbours.
