Manor Fields Primary School

Admissions

Manor Fields is a mainstream, maintained community primary school with a Resource Base for children with Complex Needs.  Our maximum mainstream capacity is 210 pupils (in 7 classes) and we admit 30 children into our Reception class each year. If applications for admissions exceed this number, each application is considered against the admissions criteria outlined in the Admissions Policy. We also have a Resource Base for 20 children with Complex Special Educational Needs and these places are awarded by the Local Authority’s Special Needs Panel.

A school place is available for all children from the September after their fourth birthday and typically, application for places need to be made directly to the Local Authority by 15th January of the year in which your child should start school.

All children are admitted to school in September and following a short induction, they are usually full-time by the third week of term. In the Summer Term preceding admission, children will be invited to visit the school for taster sessions and these include ‘stay and plays’, a Teddy’ Bear’s Picnic, a school lunch and the use of the library. Our Early Years team visit the children in their pre-school settings and arrange for introductory consultation early in the Autumn Term. We also offer home visits as part of the induction process.

In June, we hold an information evening for families that provides a great opportunity to meet the staff and governors whilst learning more about the school’s vison, values and the Early Years Curriculum.

Manor Fields is a calm, kind and inclusive community and its caring ethos is tangible. We are always keen to welcome prospective families to visit our school. We enjoy sharing all that we do in order to enable families to make an informed choice.
